ISLAND DONKEY RESCUE INFORMATION UPDATE

Hello everyone. As many of you may know we are currently working on rescuing 15 mini donkeys from Vancouver Island.
The owner is quite ill and has asked us to please come and get his donkeys and bring them back to health and happiness. We have been fundraising for the costs of the transport of the donkeys, their veterinary, dental and farrier care along with the conversion of one half of the Hay Barn for a shelter and a paddock.
With 39 donkeys now in residence at the Refuge we are at capacity, therefore when all of the mini donkeys have been rehabilitated, any of the donkeys that are suitable will be included in our New Foster a Donkey Program.
This year alone we have seen two more donkeys needing to find a forever home at the Refuge which has resulted in the Board of Directors and Membership giving their approval on beginning the process of finding a Bigger Farm for the Donkey Refuge.
2013 has started with us on the ground and running and we are eager to expand the Refuge and provide a safe and secure home to all of the donkeys that need to come to us for help. We thank you all for your encouragement and donations towards the care of these donkeys. Your help enables us to help the donkeys.
Happy Spring Everyone.
