Curly our new goat

A new addition to our family. Not a donkey but a rescue none the less. We received a drastic phone call yesterday asking us if we knew of anyone who would take a goat as the neighbours had threatened to shoot the goat if they didn't do something with it. The goat was known to escape and the neighbours did not like it in their yard. His name is Curly, he only has one horn and a curly knob for the other horn. He is neutered and I will have to do some research as to his breed. He is very friendly and settled into his stall right away. Miracle was upset until we let her out to see what all the commotion was.

Curly really is quite cute and has already won our hearts. Of course the donkeys were very curious and were banging on the barn door to get in. We will keep Curly in his pen for a few days to let everyone sniff through the gate and also it will give us time to check Curly out and worm him. You just never know what each day brings to this Refuge.

These are pictures of our first snow fall that arrived in the third week of October. Thanks heavens it warmed up a few days later and the snow has melted otherwise if would be a long winter. The donkeys are really getting their winter coats though and are starting to look like woolly cuddly bears. We always relate their coats to how the winter will be and it looks like it may be a cold one. We shall see.
