Mitch Our Newest Arrival in 2014

On Wednesday night after travelling more than 10 hours by horse trailer Mitch arrived in Kamloops and he transferred over to our trailer as if he knew he was going home.
A short hour later we were at our farm and as I got out of the truck to open the front gate I could hear all the resident donkeys braying which is a rather unusual sound at night at this time of year. I wondered if they knew that a new friend was arriving at the Donkey Refuge.
Mitch hopped out of the trailer right away and we began the walk to the barn. As we slid open the sliding door to the Sady barn the braying started once again with Maximo on one side of the gate and Mitch on the other both braying and rubbing noses through the gate. We had never seen such a happy donkey as Mitch greeting the fellow longears into his life. Mitch went into his pen with a trot in his step, he had a good roll and then greeted the rest of the Standard Herd. Mitch seemed so happy and content as he then settled down and began to chew his hay.
Mitch's new life now begins at his permanent home at the Donkey Refuge. Mitch's new life is possible because of your donations and support and for that we all thank you for helping us help the donkeys.
