EVEN A QUICK VISIT IS LOTS OF FUN

It is always such fun to watch children interact with our wonderful donkeys.  Today I (Chris) was able to take my two grandchildren who live in Nova Scotia to the Refuge for a special time with the donkeys.  The donkeys were up for plenty of scritches and, as always, were very gentle with the kids.  Kara and Justin got to see Franny and Fez, two mini donkeys that they have sponsored for several years.  Justin has a new best friend - Bijou - who followed him around wanting lots of attention.  Did you know that "bijou" is French for "jewel" - and this little white donkey is indeed a jewel.
I spent some time with Bambi and Mr. Fitz who came to the Refuge with Bonnie, our donkey that passed away this past Sunday.  I wanted to make sure they were doing okay.  I know they will be missing their friend, just as we are.
It was a little chilly at the Refuge today so we didn't stay long but it was such a lovely visit with our amazing long-ears.  One thing we know for sure - it takes but a moment for a donkey to capture your heart.

    1. It is so easy to enjoy spending time at the Refuge. Something always happens to make the trip worthwhile be it a snuggle with a donkey or just watching the antics of those sweet long-ears. Never a dull moment.
